This dissertation has studied and evaluated the carbon footprint for organization, A case study in
Chemical Engineering Laboratory at Building 10 (Chemical and Materials Engineering Laboratory, Naresuan
University) within a period of 1 year from 1 October 2022 to 30 September 2023 and as an indication of the
amount of carbon footprint emissions of each scope of the organization in Chemical Engineering laboratory
at Building 10 according to the principles of life cycle assessment (LCA) with reference to ISO 14064-1
(2006) GHG Protocol (2001, 2004) and with reference to IPCC global warming potential values 5 (AR5) which
are Calculate carbon footprint in the form of carbon dioxide equivalents. From various activities of the
chemical engineering laboratory by means of operational control and the operations is divided into 3
scopes. It was found that the total amount of greenhouse gas emissions was 104.80 tons of carbon dioxide
equivalent and activities scope 1 Direct GHG emissions, 2 Energy indirect emissions, and 3 Other indirect
GHG emissions were 82.48, 20.57, and 1.74 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent, respectively. The scope 1
activity in the use of the restroom (septic tank system) has the highest greenhouse gas emissions, followed
by the scope 2 activity in the use of electricity. However, due to being unable to propose the guidelines to
reduce greenhouse gas emissions from using the bathroom. Therefore, measures are proposed to reduce
the amount of greenhouse gas emissions from electricity use such as reducing the use of air conditioners,
Using solar energy for buildings, and determining measures to reduce electricity use in the laboratory. To
lead to planning to improve activity operations for reducing the laboratory's greenhouse gas emissions in
the next assessment.
